Volleyball

The SYA volleyball program offers a variety of opportunities for girls to be instructed in everything from basic fundamental skills to advanced team competition. As a feeder program for Smithsburg High girls volleyball, it has been designed to prepare area girls for what they can expect to experience as a part of a premier high school program. 

Elementary Instructional Volleyball

The instructional volleyball program is intended to provide elementary aged girls with basic skills like passing and setting, and technique and form are emphasized. The program consists of 7 weekly 90-minute sessions, which include small-group instruction, group drills, and scrimmages. More Info  

House League

The SYA volleyball program offers a variety of opportunities for girls to be instructed in basic fundamental and intermediate skills, and to experience team competition.  More Info

Travel Volleyball

The travel volleyball program is a highly competitive one for girls in grades 6 through 8 with the most advanced skills. As a feeder program for Smithsburg High girls volleyball, it has been designed to prepare area girls for what they can expect to experience as a part of a premier high school program. The girls compete in a league with teams from around Washington County. More info 

Skills Assessment

Skills assessments are conducted in order to identify the level of play most appropriate for each individual player, and in the case of the house league, to balance the teams and promote even competition. Players that display the highest skill levels may be invited to participate on one of the travel teams. Others will be placed on teams within the house league.
